History

Paul Tewksbury is a talented and versatile professional musician who has been performing in the Washington, DC region since his teenage years in the late ‘80’s.  “Playing in bands was always the best way to get into bars without fake ID,” he boasts jestfully.

While his current focus is on performing popular cover songs, Paul’s past is rich with success as a singer-songwriter with three CDs of original rock/pop material to his credit.  Once known as “Tax”, his bio boasts tour dates from New York to Nashville, substantial college radio airplay and glowing CD reviews from publications including The Washington Post and Washington City Paper.

In addition to his talents as a front man, Paul is an accomplished drummer and percussionist. Paul excels in all contemporary drumming styles and has performed with many of the region’s finest musicians across a variety of genres and venues.  Having taught private lessons since the mid 90’s, Paul's resume includes over a decade as an instructor with established retail outlets including Music and Arts and Victor Litz Music Center.

A seasoned studio engineer and music producer as well, Paul spent several years providing professional engineering and production services at Blue House Productions in Silver Spring, MD and in his own state-of-the-art ProTools studio.

Extensive study at the University of Maryland, Berklee College of Music, Omega Studios School and Drummers Collective has enhanced Paul’s natural abilities in all areas of his craft.  Paul’s skill, passion and experience truly make him ‘smarter than your average rock...’
